Clay: Hand-painted Lidded JarArts & CraftsFor the first session you will choose a 3-D shape, construct your jar, and fit a lid (with a flange) on top. In the second session you will clean up the leatherhard jar, refine how the lid fits, and hand-paint decoration on the surfaces, using underglaze. Step-by-step instructions will lead you to succeed in creating this complex pottery form! *Please note there is a $15 material fee paid directly to the instructor at class. Island City Clayspace Workshops are for adults & teens aged 14+. Functional ceramic projects are food-safe and can be put in the dishwasher, microwave, and oven. Clay, use of tools, underglazes, bisque firing, glaze, and glaze firing are all included, as applicable. Workshops include detailed demos, and participants learn and practice clay-working skills.
